• Turf Care

  • Desert Classics’ successful Turf Management process includes taking a knowledgeable and proactive approach to the following elements of proper turf care. Our philosophy is to start with the condition of the soil, improving it to provide the perfect conditions needed for healthy turf growth. We believe and are trained in proper horticulture practices such as:

    • Proper mowing procedures- Properly adjusted mowing heights is an important part of water conservation and the health of the turf, especially during the summer and fall transitions.
    • Aerating the turf- This is an important process to keep the soil from becoming impacted over time and allows the turf to remain healthy and green with the right amount of water and nitrogen.
    • Site specific watering and irrigation- Each community and site has it's own irrigation needs. Fitting these needs can be a challenge but can be accomplished through well-managed irrigation schedules.
    • Weed and Disease Control & Prevention-Turf is a big investment for any community and the last thing anyone wants to see is weeds in the turf. Our managers are trained to know how to solve this common problem through controlled weed and disease management practices.
    • Fertilization-Turf requires a well-managed nutrient program to grow and be healthy in the extreme desert environment. Proper fertilization not only retains the aesthetic appearance of turf, but also keeps it healthier, retaining water during stressful periods better.
    • Managing nutritional deficiencies-Account Managers are trained to recognize and identify nutritional deficiencies. They have the tools to solve problems that may arise, due to nutritional deficiencies that can occur.
    • Issue evaluations and solutions- Finally, through ongoing training our managers are masters in the industry and have the ability to solve any landscape issue that arise.
